At Gilia Practice, I help people change these responses using hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques and life coaching approaches to work with the mind to change unhelpful automatic responses and create calmer, more supportive ways of thinking and feeling.

Based near Glasgow, I work with clients across the UK through individual online hypnotherapy sessions, allowing you to access professional support from the comfort of your own home.
Online sessions are calm, focused and just as effective as working together in person. Many clients find it easier to make meaningful changes when working in a familiar and comfortable environment.

About me and Welcome to Gilia Practice
Gilia Practice supports change around anxiety, fears, phobias and unhelpful patterns, alongside personal growth and life direction. The work integrates hypnotherapy, NLP and coaching to facilitate meaningful, lasting change.
I am Gillian McCarthy, a CMA accredited Hypnotherapy and NLP Practitioner and Transformational Life Coach. Gilia Practice is founded on the understanding that, like the gilia wildflower, individuals possess an innate capacity to thrive, even following challenging experiences.
I have a varied background which includes working as a Speech and Language Therapist, roles within the charity sector and volunteering as a Childline Counsellor. This breadth of experience has strengthened my ability to listen deeply, understand what's needed and communicate in a way that supports meaningful change.
I was lucky enough to train in person, with one of the world's leading practitioners, Ali Campbell, whose approach emphasises working directly with the patterns that sit beneath the issue. This forms the foundation of my practice today, supporting change at its source, without the need for extensive exploration of past experiences.
